Contents and focus of the degree programme:

The Master of International Business Informatics (DDP) programme on one hand expands the theoretical horizon in formal modelling of business informatics and on the other hand perfects the skills in the technical and methodological implementation. Graduates will be able to identify organisational, social-economic and technological connexions and to develop and implement corporate information systems and organisational concepts on the basis of this integral analysis. This professional qualification allows a great number of assignments in planning and deciding functions. Graduates will for example be particularly qualified for occupations in internal and external consulting, system analysis and system design or for occupations in all project management processes. Moreover, they will also be qualified for theoretical and applied scientific research. The medium of instruction is English.

Definition of the field of studies

The Master of International Business Informatics (DDP) programme deals with design, development and application of information and communication systems in commercial enterprises.

Exams

As a joint degree programme the Master of International Business Informatics programme is also offered at Dublin City University and Comenius University of Bratislava. Students must study courses at at least two partner universities. It consists of the compulsory modules “Structural Science“, “Business Science“, “Information Management“, “Business Informatics“, ”Core subject combination 1: E-Commerce”, ”Core subject combination 2: Knowledge Engineering“ and “Master Thesis”. Students have to choose a focus from the elective subjects “Introduction to the Information Society“, “Discrete Event Dynamical Systems for Communication Based Systems“, “Advanced Technologies Supporting Business Areas“ and “Corporate Portals and Knowledge Management“. A study period abroad is compulsory. The master’s examination, which concludes the programme, will be taken within the framework of a public presentation with defence of the master’s thesis.
