Bachelor programme Management & Law

Contents and focus of the degree programme:

The bachelor's programme imparts a balanced combination of management-oriented business contents with an additional focus on business law. The programme focuses on economic and legal elements, a holistic understanding of corporate processes and the acquisition of sound management skills. Complex problems are studied both from an economic and from a legal point of view. Personality development, social skills, knowledge of the communication and information technologies as well as language skills round off the education. Students will benefit from a practice-oriented and internationally oriented programme, recognised experts from economics and science in the teaching, case studies and projects (in close collaboration with trade and industry). Graduates can work e.g. in industrial enterprises, tax consultancy and auditing, market and opinion research and telecommunications. The medium of instruction is German and English.

Definition of the field of studies

The Management & Law programme covers business, management-oriented and legal aspects at the interface of economics and law.


The bachelor's programme lasts six semesters and includes the following modules: Professional tools, Scientific methodology & problem solution techniques, Academic research & integrative projects, Management & law, English, Team management and communication, Negotiation & conflict management, Private business law, Public business law, Company organisation, Competition and single market law, Marketing mix instruments, Business accountancy, Company planning & controlling, Human resource management & organisation, Business taxation. Students can choose between the specialisation modules (majors) HR Management & Labour Law, International Marketing & Distribution, and Auditing & Controlling. In the course of the 6th semester students must do a 13-week professional internship in an Austrian or international company. Students have the possibility to spend a semester at a university abroad. Students have to write a bachelor's thesis in the 6th semester. The programme concludes with a bachelor's examination.

Entrance examinations

The prerequisite for admission to this programme is the higher education entrance qualification or subject-relevant professional qualifications with supplementary examinations in German, English, mathematics and two optional elective subjects.
