Master programme Cartography (E)

Contents and focus of the degree programme:

Students have to study the first semester of this programme at Munich University of Technology, the second semester at Vienna University of Technology and the third semester at Dresden University of Technology. Students are free to choose the university at which they want to spend the fourth semester, during which the master’s thesis will be written.

Kopperation der Technischen Universität Wien mit der Technischen Universität Dresden und der Technischen Universität München. Das 1. Semester wird an der TU München, das 2. Semester an der TU Wien und das 3. Semester and er TU Dresden, das 4. Semester kann frei gewählt werden.

Definition of the field of studies

The degree programme consists of different modules and it is an international, English-taught master programme. It is organised in collaboration with Munich University of Technology and Dresden University of Technology.

Exams

Students have to study the following modules: Theoretical Cartography, LBS & Multimedia Cartography, Cartographic Publishing, Applied Cartographic Research & Development. They have to write their master’s thesis in English.

Entrance examinations

The necessary qualifications have to be proven to Munich University of Technology; the two other universities can take part in the assessment of the student's qualifications by taking part in a joint commission.
