Master’s programme Statistics (E)

Content and focus of the degree programme:

The Statistics degree programme first and foremost is to impart qualifications for collecting, analysing and interpreting data materials in complex situations. The aim of the master’s programme moreover is conveying a scientifically oriented pre-professional education. Compared to the bachelor's programme the master’s programme is more oriented on the core subjects of statistics. Moreover the degree programme includes an introduction to modern developments in statistics and enables specialisation in the elective courses. Since statistics are used in many academic disciplines there is a wide range of job options for graduates. The main ones are: central bureaus of statistics, chambers and public services, all companies that possess quality assurance departments, opinion research and social research institutes, banks and insurance companies, medicine – biology – pharmacology as well as any occupations that require programming knowledge.
