Master programme General Management (E)

Contents and focus of the degree programme:

The master’s programme in General Management imparts the necessary knowledge to work in key positions at the resolution of current and future challenges for companies and organisations. The students are trained for central management functions, focusing on international and practice-oriented applicability. The degree programme is taught in English and thus also imparts subject-related and interdisciplinary language skills. Within the degree programme students have the possibility to specialise in their preferred area. They can choose from four areas of specialisation: “Marketing & International Marketing“, “Human Resource Management & Organization“, “Global Strategic Management“ and “Entrepreneurship”. Another focus of the programme is on current and future challenges of innovation, globalisation and sustainability. The medium of instruction is English.

Definition of the field of studies

The degree programme in General Management deals with central management functions in companies and organisations.

Exams

The master’s programme in General Management is divided into compulsory and elective modules. The compulsory modules include “Strategic Management“, “Marketing“, “Organization“, “Human Resource & Change Management“, “Managerial Accounting“, “Financial Accounting”, “Corporate Finance”, and “Methods in Management Research”. Moreover, students have to study subjects from the elective modules of “Leadership Challenges“, “Spezialized Management Competence“ and “Advanced Electives“. The degree programme concludes with a master’s thesis, which must be written in English. It is recommended to enhance and improve one’s active and passive language skills in a study period abroad.
