Definition of the field of studies

The bachelor's programme in Business Administration in Tourism and Hospitality Management is intended for students from all over the world who want to create a solid basis for their career in tourism and hospitality management. The programme aims at developing the academic, professional and personal abilities of the students. The basis of the programme is an entrepreneurial spirit and efficient service.

Exams

Leading Austrian and international academic staff and experts from industry teach in the bachelor's programme in Business Administration in Tourism and Hospitality Management. A special course about trends in the industry keeps students up to date about the current developments. The modules “Operations” and “Communication” and many more deal with practical training and the simulation of real-life situations. The courses are held in small groups. In the specially developed mentoring system companies from the Austrian and international hotel and tourism industry support selected groups of students by organising discussions, providing books about specific topics and by providing special case studies and topics for bachelor's theses. Moreover they offer places for internships and employment after graduation. Career counselling is offered for all students and individual counselling and coaching can be organised upon request. In the fourth semester students have to do an external internship in Austria or abroad. The programme concludes with a bachelor's thesis.

Entrance examinations

The prerequisite for admission in this programme is the general university entrance qualification and a minimum age of eighteen. In addition to the written application applicants also have to provide proof of sufficient knowledge of English.
