The degree programme for the school subject physical education is divided into two stages and consists of courses in the subjects of “movement and sports”, general education studies and elective subjects. The purpose of the first stage of the programme is to introduce students to the basics of the degree programme. It lasts four semesters. The second stage of the programme serves the consolidation and enhancement of the academic training for a future teaching job. It lasts five semesters. In the course of the programme two degree examinations must be passed. The degree programme concludes with a thesis. Students have to choose the topic for this thesis from one of the examination subjects stipulated in the curriculum. Students are recommended to do a work placement abroad.

Prospective students have to pass a supplementary examination to prove their physical and motor ability.
