The degree programme consists of the following subjects: central artistic subjects, music practice, special chapters and elective subjects. Moreover, a master's thesis must be written and an examination before a committee must be passed.
Entrance examinations
Voraussetzung ist die positive Absolvierung eines Eignungskolloquiums (Nachweis dirigentischer Begabung durch Vordirigieren des auferlegten Pflichtprogrammes und Lösung der vom Prüfungssenat gestellten dirigentischen Aufgaben). Students whose mother tongue is not German have to prove proficiency in the German language before they can enrol for the second semester. Their proficiency level must correspond to level B2 of the Austrian Language Proficiency Diploma for German (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom für Deutsch (ÖSD)).
