The study programme Choral Conducting offers a comprehensive education for the whole area of music conducting, such as conducting for vocal or instrumental ensembles, concerts or opera, professional or amateur choirs, symphony orchestras or special formations of instrumental ensembles. Additionally, the field of opera coaching prepares the students for the work in the different genres of opera (and especially for the diverse areas of activity in opera houses) through a wide range of courses. Together with the wide range of practical course contents, music theoretical expertise and skills for performance practice of early and contemporary music form the foundation for a career in conducting.
