The focus of the bachelor's programme in informatics at the University of Klagenfurt is applied informatics. The aim of the degree programme is to enable graduates to develop high-quality computer-aided solutions to problems, to manage the problem-solving process efficiently and effectively and to plan the beneficial use of solutions based on methods and techniques of computer science. This requires above all sound knowledge and skills in computer science but also knowledge about possible fields of application. In computer science software systems are usually developed in organisations and embedded in social systems. In addition, methodological, social and individual skills are therefore necessary for the successful development, introduction and profitable use of computer science systems.
