Computers control cars, fly aeroplanes and control robots. What used to be purely mechanical or electrical now uses microcontrollers with a wide range of sensors. With modern software and network technology intelligent products and network products are created – the embedded systems. In the degree programme in Hardware-Software Design the students will gain the necessary expertise for the development of these embedded systems. This modern computer technology consisting of professionally developed hardware and software provides the many high-tech functions of these "smart" products (Smart IT). With this degree the students will be able to develop entire IT systems of any kind: Using their own hardware and software the students can set robots in motion and bring the next generation of game consoles, smartwatches and voice assistants on the market and ensure security and energy efficiency in modern smart homes – supported by artificial intelligence.
