Mechatronics combines elements of the traditional disciplines of mechanics, electronics and computer science, which interact efficiently in computer-controlled systems and open up future-oriented solutions. Mechanical and electrical engineering are among the most important branches of industry internationally and are regarded as the basis for every technical innovation. The link with IT makes mechatronics a particularly important engineering discipline with regard to digitalization.
