Bachelor’s programme English and American Studies (E)

Content and focus of the degree programme:

The bachelor’s degree programme in English and American Studies enables students of this subject to become experts in English language and Anglophone literatures and cultures in the sense of academic professional preparation. In the course of the degree programme the students will thus gain theoretical and practical skills in the English language and in various – subject-specific and generally occupation-relevant – subject areas, and thus the possibility to work in a great number of established and alternative occupational fields after graduation. These occupational fields all have different qualification profiles but they all require, apart from the ability to use language (both the mother tongue and the foreign language) consciously and in a sophisticated way, great cultural and scientific-analytical skills.
