Definition of the field of studies

Law deals with the interpretation of the systematic and conceptual permeation of current and historical legal texts and other legal sources.

The three stages of the degree programme are each completed by a degree examination which is the prerequisite for the following stage. Moreover, a thesis must be written. This academic assignment covers a topic from the degree examination subjects of the three stages of the programme. It can deal with a theoretical question or case analyses and critiques of decisions. In the course of the programme courses in compulsory subjects which are taught in a foreign language must be studied. A study period abroad in a non-German-speaking country also fulfils this requirement.
