The examination subjects in the master’s programme “Chemistry” include inorganic and organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical and theoretical chemistry, environmental chemistry and technical chemistry. The elective course catalogues include laboratory courses, chemistry, electives in chemistry and soft skills. The elective subjects that can be chosen freely can be chosen from the whole range of courses of all Austrian universities; subjects such as mathematics, nomenclature of chemical compounds, introduction to technological impact assessment or women and gender research, however, are recommended. A few supplementary subjects are also required. A study period abroad is supported. To complete the programme a master’s thesis must be written, which should be thematically oriented on the compulsory subjects.
